When using CAT5e (or similar UTP) network cabling to carry telephone lines, the telephone is connected to the wall socket using mod tap connectors. Back in the server room, how do you connect from the network patch panel to the BT telephone socket? This cable is the answer!
Alternatively, this cable can also be used to connect surge and spike protection devices fitted with a UK telephone socket to a UK telephone wallplate.
Note: As per convention, only the centre 4 pins are connected. Straight wired (connected pin 2 to 2, 3 to 3, 4 to 4, 5 to 5).
